For Android handsets, OpenAI has released a new feature for their AI chatbot,ChatGPT. The most recent development in OpenAI’s attempts to improve user experience in face of strong competition from other AI chatbots like Google Gemini is the introduction of a new home screen widget. This widget was revealed by an Android Central contributor in a post on X (previously known as Twitter). With this new feature, Android users can now quickly access ChatGPT directly from their home screens, increasing its accessibility.
In addition to several other features, this new widget provides shortcuts for text, voice, and video requests. It makes interacting with the AI chatbot more efficient.
The widget makes it easier to switch to conversation mode so you can easily engage with ChatGPT without closing or leaving your home screen. With its release in app version 1.2024.052, the widget has the potential to completely transform how users interact with the platform.
Notably, the 1.2024.045 version that is currently available on the Google Play store does not allow access to it. This disparity suggests that the widget may still be in the beta stage and hasn’t been made available to all users.

OpenAi chatgpt new widget text to video generator Sora
OpenAI has just achieved yet another milestone in the field of generative artificial intelligence. A new program that can instantaneously create brief films in response to textual directions was presented by the creator of ChatGPT a week ago. Sora is a brand-new text-to-video generator from OpenAI, a company supported by Microsoft. While comparable technology has already been showcased by other internet behemoths like Google and Meta, OpenAI seems to have advanced significantly in terms of quality.
A well-known YouTuber named Jimmy Donaldson, often known as Mr. Beast, informed OpenAI CEO Sam Altman about the software launch. “Please don’t put me up for adoption, Sam.” “Will generate you a video, what would you like?” was Altman’s reply. “Hmm, a monkey playing chess in a park,” the user said.
The OpenAI CEO immediately posted a superb movie made by Sora on the X platform.

OpenAI has made great strides in generative artificial intelligence with the release of Sora, a text-to-video generator. With written commands, Sora can instantly create short films; this is faster than similar technology, as shown by Meta and Google.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman used social media to show off skills by responding to a user’s request for a video of a monkey in a park playing chess. Not long after, Sora’s excellent movie was uploaded on the X platform by Altman.
The introduction of the widget demonstrates OpenAI’s commitment to enhancing AI technology and user experience. The rivalry among smartphone assistants, particularly that of Google Gemini, has spurred OpenAI to improve and innovate its offerings.
From the home screen, the widget offers convenient access to ChatGPT with choices for text, voice, and video queries.
Also, the widget launches conversation mode, allowing seamless engagement without ever having to leave the home screen.
Android Central contributor Mishaal Rahman unveiled the widget in an X post, making ChatGPT more accessible.
App version 1.2024.052 includes a widget that aims to change the way users engage with the AI platform. Nevertheless, the widget remains unavailable in the current version, suggesting that, contrary to expectations, it may still be under beta testing.
